July 19 – 23, 2009
C.W. Post Campus, Long Island University
What is Summer Seminar?
Over 350 arts-in-education professionals will explore the theme, "Creativity as Catalyst ," through a variety of events: workshops, creativity labs, discussion groups, keynote address and plenary meetings. Seminar attendees also will have opportunities to meet with consultants and to plan for the upcoming year, as part of their team and with their regional network groups.
Who is Summer Seminar for?
The ESP Summer Seminar is designed to support partnerships between cultural organizations and schools which integrate the arts across the curriculum. Teachers, teaching artists and administrators are welcome, whether or not their partnership receives funding from the New York State Council on the Arts.
When is the Registration deadline?
Please register on or before June 27, 2009.
Attendance and Tuition
Tuition for individuals: $750 for the week. This rate includes all meals and applies to attendees who commute or who stay on campus.
Discounts for Additional Team Members: Any partnership or organization that registers two people will receive a $50 discount for each additional participant. In other words, the third, fourth and fifth, etc., team members would be charged at the rate of $700 each.
Other Tuition Info:
Because the Seminar is designed as a week-long learning experience, we ask that participants commit to the entire Seminar.
- PRINCIPAL’S PRIVILEGE PROGRAM: Because school principals are among the busiest school personnel, even in summer, we are pleased to waive tuition for principals who attend Summer Seminar for only one day. Regrettably, we are not able to offer this to principals who register for the entire week or to assistant principals.
- SPLIT FEE: If two registrants from one organization choose to split a week’s registration, a fee of $45 is charged to cover additional materials and administrative costs.
- OTHER RATES: One-day registration and reduced tuition are available only by request, in light of unique circumstances.
- BILLING: We will invoice your organization before July 1 for all team members registered. If you need an invoice sooner than July 1, please contact the ESP office.
