Project
Description: For the 2010-2011 year, HCS/CU partnership has proposed a school-wide Eco-Art theme that includes curriculum that integrates art-making across subjects and grade levels. After learning about ecological issues locally and globally from a scientific and political perspective, students will extend that awareness to a cultural perspective, learning about the practice and process of contemporary artists whose work focuses on the environment in some way. This K-12 initiative will transfer skills, ideas and techniques from prior ESP projects, and will conclude with the completion by HCS students of a sculpture inspired by a local ecological concern, installed in a public site with a community-wide reception in the Town of Hamilton.
